Steve Jobs always said simplicity is perfection....I read David's poems from time to time, and I don't respond, they are wonderfully compact, as each time I go back to them, maybe the words are exactly the same, but they mean something very different to me and I measure myself by them, many times, because, he is a deep romantic and he can do it with simplicity....this, Jeff fa fa, is exquisite as a very vulnerable work.....I always have this Dylan Thomas influence thing with you, but, these are so your own, it is just the perfect conciseness here that makes me pause, as also, with every reread, it is the depth of what I feel or recognize or reject that comes around newly....that is the kind of writing I aspire to, however, I pretty much throw as much train of thought, metaphor and spaghetti sauce as I can to the wall, and hope, the mess might make some kind of abstract thing....this is just direct, essential, I have imagined so many stories of you and this lady, where you went, what you did and how you both looked at each other....this is poetry, at its best.
