All alone?
I sang a little song tonight,
To show how much I cared,
About my little chickadee,
Who had wondered how I faired,
While I was on a subway train,
At night within the pouring rain,
She called me on my mobile phone,
To tell me she was all alone,
And could I get there right away,
before the coming light of day,
For there was something she would tell,
I now could hear the warning bell,
As the station came into my sight,
Soon crowds of people I would fight,
To get up from the underground,
Past the office of the lost and found,
And through the streets towards my home,
Towards my angel all alone,
Who is waiting for her kiss goodnight,
And to hold my hand so very tight,
When I tell her stories at bedtime
You see my daughter’s only nine.
Darkness.
