Chasing Serenity.
Often hearing Voices harsh and loud, feeling lonely in a crowd..
Sometimes he sits and wonders if time has run its course, on a lifetime full of blunders; always settling for the worse hand fate could play…
She arrived in western glory, spirit dancing one fine day; re-writing his miserable story, in that idiosyncratic way she never learned in school..
Her laughter soft and hard, reaching into what was fundamentally his and hers..
What does a man possess beyond his capacity to love? When these feelings Coalesce, he offers them to God above to work out the details…
God grant him some serenity tonight, darkness can no longer fight against the light...

I'm not sure why or how... yet this piece seems to strike a familiar faint 'bell' from the past... a sort of distant tintinnabulation of deja vu.
I'm already deeply drawn to you offering here, David, and I do so enjoy reading it...just did so 4 times.
This one has a distinct vocal intonation within it.
'NIM'-hummmmm...

Thanks Jeffrey..
This not a new poem, and I did post it a few months back at BNET so maybe that's where you read it.
In truth, I'm not writing a lot of new stuff at the moment, as the muse comes and goes. But reading and commenting on the fine offerings here is more than adequate compensation.
I'm really thrilled at the way the forum is going and the talent we have managed to attract. Long may it continue.

I must have missed the Bnet posting, too.
No matter, I get to enjoy it now!
