Savage Soul.
I fell into the space between the moments, And found myself in a Manoir as old as the stones, On the old road between Paris and Brest…
The sky is much sadder here Though the silence is deep and healing, I guess many who falter someday atone It’s part of the contract inscribed on the bone; Still the Goat’s butt my chest, And the Hen’s peck my shins, Nobody here is counting my sins..
Then once again the scenery changes, And I sit at the feet of my soul
I’d been selling sand to nomad’s in the desert When a wise Camel snorted:
“You’ve been noticed in too many places, time to move on find a small oasis, and get your demons sorted”
The savage soul speaks a language all it’s own; Sometimes In fragments of awareness and understanding, Walking along thorny pathways undergrown.

I liked this one david, particulary this part:
I’d been selling sand to nomad’s in the desert When a wise Camel snorted:
“You’ve been noticed in too many places, time to move on find a small oasis, and get your demons sorted”
A playful way of drawing the reader to the focus of the write. No doubt just as things get comfortable it is time to move on. Great read, always something new with your writes and I like that as well.
peace as always, Bernie

Yes, one of my favorites, of many favorites of mine, that you've done... I havn't had goats butt my chest, but I have had hens peck my shins and sat at the foot of my soul...So, I always feel this one...Beautiful writing on a universal subject--wrestling the inner demon...Nir.

Jesus Christ yes, this is why you are a poet, this poem right here...shit, fuck yes...just a pure straight truth told earnestly and clearly....I missed this one before, however, it is now on paper in my wallet...next to the "Emperor of Ice Cream", "Do Not Go Gentle.." and then "Savage Soul". David, this is your best poem ever, at least in my book.

I concur with you, Moseley. I wish he was chained to a computer, writing more poetry like this, instead of being chained to it to make a living...But, once we finally were together for good, then reality stepped in and we both had to work to make this living work...lol...

John you are more than kind ... I love acclaim as much as the next wo -man!
I haven't written much for a time and maybe that's because I am content in a routine.
But thank you for your time you are a Man to treasure!
And my darling Sabrina ... you appreciate quality Lol!
