Soul Music
Piano strains Evoke a memory Of music heard but once But never lost.
It’s this yearning That keeps a heart in chains And it’s the searching That brings the tears And bitter winter rains.
But there’s a space Where you can go Behind the notes of music And rusty links of chain
Where the only sound is peace And saints line up Like Cathedral pews.
It’s a place where you can linger For a lifetime if you choose.
