Leprosy
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23a NKJV
First his fine kindnesses fell
Off, selfishness set in,
Longsuffering was the next to go
When impatience beginned
To strip off selfcontrol.
Carnality took hold
And goodness dropped away from him
And evil took control
And then both peace and gentleness
In pieces did depart
As love dwindled to nothing
In his warring raging heart.
Little wonder no more joy
About him could be found
And anger grew in the places
Where joy had once been found
For faithfulness no more was there:
He walked a sickening path-
Leprous was his spirit;
As leprous was his heart.
