*thanks for sharing a haiku, Sam! think you teased another from me, inspired by your lines...this winter in April weather mess is giving us "southern belles" thought chills...LOL...but, yes? let me see what I've got in my head to follow yours...*
Lost in a blizzard continually smacking trees with my head and knees

cottonwoods explode profusional tomorrows into today's air
breezebound, fuzzed seedlings freefloating everywhere some, lodged in my hair
the tree doesn't care if it's invaded my do with it's future dreams
of faint roots grown strong furrowing the loamy ground with what is to be
cottonwoods explode profusional tomorrows into today's air

vibrant purple red nectar filled wine-cup for bees sweet poppy mallow

in the wake of March up springs the simple blossoms of the white clover
~*~
tread softly this one she'a a mala mujer of a plant known as bull nettle
~*~
the Texas thistle flowers of pink to purple pretty but prickly
grows tall as five feet get caught in a stand of it you'll whine and whistle
~*~
dealing with people oft leaves one feeling as though handling clammyweed...
leaving the spirit sticky with the residue of having brushed them...
anirbas 12/30/2006 9:38 PM 3 out of 16 Wicked White Bloom
White prickly poppy Flourishes in stands of pain If you wander there
No surprise it thrives Profligating the ditches And acres of fields
A Borgia clan Type of a wild grown flower Pretty and wicked

winter moon blossoms blooms over the horizon a single white rose
anirbas 12/30/2006 9:40 PM 4 out of 16 evening whispers
ting-ting-a-ling-ling chimes on the front porch ring-sing dancing with the wind
evening whispers as does my mind, lost in thought scuddling to and fro
betwixt and between before, during and after our romantic song
ting-ting-a-ling-ling chimes on the front porch ring-sing dancing with the wind

adapt to this life none are safe from strife and trials be reborn in life
your own messiah bless yourself and blessed be adapt to this life
anirbas 12/30/2006 9:46 PM 6 out of 16 quickening
half moon rises slow stars scatter and shoot the skies summer dies, fall sighes
sweetly whispering shivers up my bent, tired spine quickening my blood
anirbas 12/30/2006 9:48 PM 7 out of 16 resting on nothing...
there is white numbness to be found in peace of mind a blissful void
in knowing one's best is done, passing or failing class is now over
time to close the book put away the frenzied pen give it all a rest
bliss in acceptance surrendering to what is and to what will be
i look at the path the road gazes at me, too i in confusion...
it, obliquely stares... not surrendering it's tales of futures to come
so i learn to breathe, into the unknowingness of knowing nothing...

we dare to...
moons and seasons pass days turn to nights that don't last still, here we are--us...
you and i, standing-- side by side, hand in the glove companionable...
comfort and solace, passion and fire we share because we dare to...
~*~
enter the dark lair exit in a fit of love flying like a dove
~*~
morning opens bright upon a glittery path of night dropped bright frost
~*~
a haiku a day keeps writing doldrums at bay flicks the brain switch on...
allows me to poem when my brain is otherwise in hibernation...

Washed from the darkness of the nurturing wombtime Into the lightness-
The reality of this cold, forbidding world; sterile, without love-
Unconditional, no strings attached generally means- Oh, yes there is so...
No strings that become rattlesome chains of burdens- Of what never was...

intrinsic beauty, everlasting in color, printed on paper
reminds me nature is right outside my window, reminds me of you...

a paradise of my own (HAIKU)
MY LIFE IS A PARADISE
MADE OF NOT A SINGLE ROSE
BUT OF FRUITFUL TREES
MANY ARE RIPE FRUITS
OF GOOD AND NOT OF EVIL
THEY ARE FRUITS OF LIFE
MY WORLD IS A PARADISE
A EDEN OF FRUITFUL TREES
OF KNOWLEDGE AND GOOD
