This is why we live
Is there a reason to live? I used to think there wasn't But for some reason I survived.
Do I need a reason to live? I would need a reason to not live. But as I take time to be alive I find the joys in being alive
If not for the simple act of being, We would never know what love feels like Never know what it means to care for someone Or what it's like to be cared for by others
Isn't that what life is about? Life was never meant to be battled alone. It was meant to be spent with friends Family, pets, and loved ones
Who else would we point to the open blue sky To watch with as the clouds go by Or scream beside as we watch TV Or cry and hold when life gets hard
Why else would we have the power to see The power to hear, the power to speak Why else would we have these arms to hold Or hearts and souls to love?
We need not live just to prolong death Or soulmates for a life worth living There is love in every corner of the Earth, no matter where you find it.

"There is love in every corner of the Earth, no matter where you find it." None who could have designed it Would ever, ever, have maligned it! Only the ignorant and short sighted fool,. . . Would ever be so stupid or cruel!

"Frigid nuclear winter" nothing left to burn The horrors humanity does earn, Simply because too many refuse to learn! Hurling our world toward destruction Regardless of the wise instruction that they only spern Or use for their ridiculous lies construction!

Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap Ridiculous lies' construction Bang, bang, bang, bang Incredulous words' destruction Hammer, nails, screws, sails Kill a whale, build a wall, Build it up to burn it all.
Nearly four billion years ago, something strange did happen. By some unspoken miracle, something came from nothing.
From one, to two, to ten, From a hundred, a thousand, a million years To billions of years gone by, Every piece on the planet came together to the way we see it now; every piece of matter on Earth, to exactly where we are today.
Yet in between the time of old and far before our stories told, something else did happen in this strange and unknown land.
Before my great-great grandfather's time, before my brain existed There were a group of people who so thoroughly insisted
It was their right to claim this land, and the lives of the people in it And all the crops and trees and flowers, all would be stolen with it. Every language, tradition, and rhyme Which was not their own, was to be taken; suppressed, killed, punished, and eaten- The monstrosity of men unbeaten.
They did this once, and twice, and ten A hundred, to a thousand, to millions of times, to billions of people, in every age With each new tool of destruction strengthening their rage.
They know, I do not own a memory of a thousand years. We are just people who live and then die. And each new death, memories forgotten Each new death, a lie may be spoken.
For if we do not remember our past, and if these words would be my last, then anyone could choke them up, and paint a pictured something else.
And if no one would care to remember, the words of my life would twist into ember, until the only thing left of my life was the remains of someone else's lie.
This is why we must remember Record and preserve the lives of our past Honor the traditions of every people and resist the lie from the killer's mouth.

Harbinger!
CLAP!!! CLAP!!! CLAP!!!
"And if no one would care to remember, the words of my life would twist into ember, until the only thing left of my life was the remains of someone else's lie."
This piece has both a melodic feel and a jarring beat of urgency to it.
Enjoyed the read, immensely. Read it three times. Good to know you've been running through the halls with us!

are venerated idolized fascism the newest old trend Jews write the liberalist liberalities as if liberty were a crime and somehow hatred sells the most, and demands one more dime for such is a thing to see, when all the hens have been rousted and their eggs, one by one, cartonized and packed just cute as a little button, the rooster does not care for these, crows just the same and oddly just keeps operating for it is his only game and ring a neck or two, and serve them on a plate someone always pays a triple price on the commodity of hate, the rest of us protest fair is fair if fair is fairly fared someone's getting fatter someone's getting richer many times the one who say loudly how they care oh, somewhere there's a lottery, where only few will win and for the price of pride and prejudice alike the rest will have to take it on the chin call it what you like, or what you will, it is a bitter pill, the righteous have the sinner so the penitent can pay the bill

"the penitent can pay the bill" You know the ones the truly guilty want to kill We are discouraged from alone climbing the hill Lest our Minds get a fill Of a truly autonomous thrill Of suddenly knowing our own minds Not being someone else's codicil

"Not being someone else's codicil," a late-comer, an afterthought, a murderous eyed interloper, is a better feeling to have been loved and included from the start, ah well it warms the heart!

the last testament was promising and it was written with skill like a handstanding violinist in slapstick vaudeville but the lawyer was reading in every word there in verse and his schemes he was scheming and his aim quite terse then he had the money and maybe the last laugh and I returned to the shelter because I needed a bath (I loved the use of the word codicil, it is a rare word, hardly used today, but it was really cool, that is, your way...it reminds me of the old feudal law, it is still in existence, quite much but also, never saw.....and a rich, rich word for all that is left, and really, then, it is only payable on death)

"I needed a bath", but no water to be found; though I looked high and low, really all around! Scorched was the earth fire in the sky is it time for me to just lay down and die? Why not is the answer that echoed in my brain there's no chance of rain. Last left alive, if you could contrive alone on scorched Earth what's that life worth?

"why not is the answer". Oh that is good. I had so much hit me with this one, however, it is convoluted. I will have to revise this once I distill the mash down. I play around with comparative religion and oddly, Anton Lavay hit some curious things in his "Satanic Bible" in the nine laws of earth, but the handling of solipsism also springs a lyric from a nine inch nail lyric "there is no you there is only me". Even the state of the Judeo Christian nature of GOD has elements and then Dante's inferno. Your recent post goes all over a field and even more, what to do when you are there.

What's that life worth? That's the question I ask As I'm staring down A creepy crawly Beetle-like creature Unidentified On my wall Scuttling upward.
I know I could kill it, but what even is it?
As the answer turns out, it's a good thing I didn't I'm glad it's still living I trapped it in a cup and gave it To the beautiful outdoors
This bug, you see, was no ordinary thing Or perhaps it was, but not to me This bug's identity Was
A STINK BUG
Oh! The horror! The terror it would be! Had I not had the wisdom to set it free! If I had squished it, the whole world would see - Or smell -- The terrible stench that was caused by me! A terrible oversight that might have been To release a thing so foul. But luckily, I made the right call. Even if it seems small A little grace can save us all.

A little grace can save us all If we were just willing to give some As well as take some.
You don't need to rearrange your heart, Just move a few ideas, feelings and commitments around to make a bit of room. Just a bit of empty space that grace can move into and fill.
Something like that would fit the bill.

"Something like that would fit the bill" but it's against the law to kill, the man who did something lewd to me against my will😡 It wasn't harmless, It wasn't good natured, It wasn't fun. He deserves a bullet from a gun, But I'll settle for a voodoo doll, And what he'll get if he has the gall . . . To do one single thing further toward me! . . . I'll give you a clue. . . It won't be to do what he wants me to!!!🤬

"It won't be to do what he wants me to" When I combat him . . . using voodoo! A pin in the head, a pin in the heart, a pin in between where the legs start! I do not fear him, but he should fear me. The curse, the voodoo, we'll just wait and see!!!

We'll just wait and see
how the past and the future confront one another time marches on but people can't help but look back at where we've been
Are we walking into a future we really want? That's the question.
Answers are created when the past collides with the future.
Like watching a school bus turn onto the highway, but flying past the wrong way sign A collision is inevitable
The question is, what will the debris field look like?

What will the debris field look like after the next election? Will there be folks fleeing a democracy that has died with the election of an aspiring authoritarian dictator? How long will it take before the scales fall from the eyes of those who by their vote for him have thrown democracy on the trash heap and ushered in the reign a selfish narcissistic maniac who doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself

I was, until recently,a CNA; at that time working in homecare. My patient's adult Son (just a side note big fat bellied grand father),somewhere around my age, I was 63 at the time; he came to visit my patient on Mother's day when I was on duty, with his wife, they were getting ready to leave and his wife had wandered over toward the stairs going out, he got between his mother and wife and me blocking their view,, he went to shake my hand and scrabbled my palm really hard with his middle finger, I tried to yank my hand away and he clamped down on my wrist with his other hand and wouldn't allow me to pull my hand away, that's the disgusting thing he did! and yes I reported him to the agency but that was their biggest best paying account, so I knew they wouldn't do anything about it, but I told them in case he tried that nasty disgusting shit with any of the other women on that assignment.

Who doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself?? Sadly there are too many that fit that description, but one of them will destroy our democracy if given a chance, and just BTW, there are a hundred other reasons to be disgusted by him but let him be his disgusting self, as long as he doesn’t have his criminal fingers on the pulse of our nation in a death-grip chokehold!

An aspiring authoritarian dictator Will sooner or later Find that without at least tacit consent All his pretence of being heaven sent Will be shredded and burnt: The lesson he learnt Is that oppression will always fail And goodness will come to prevail

👏👏👏 donnabarber Goodness will come to prevail, and if it does not, if it should fail . . . We might get pounded by a temporary hail. Fire fizzle out Ice will be scraped and melt. There are too many good people to allow evil to prevail, and not enough evil followers who will forever bow and Hail.

Just reading this. Oh, my stars! Pulsillanimous piece of shit! And at an age when he should be matured enough to act like an adult. But, I guess asshats like his kind, never evolve. I am sorry you had to endure this vile behavior. I do however like the poem. We could curse him...Haha...just kidding or just saying...hehehehe
