Amazing to slip by and find so many of you I have missed so thoroughly from the "old home place of bnet"...Sharon...Glenn...Amy...Moseley...
In the recent past, Misharae aka Wistful Dragon and Dawngirl aka DG aka Dawness have landed for all to brief moments...
Lately, one of our newer members, Starfirefairy has also been getting busy with her creative self. She is Mishie's sister and therefore, automatically, "one of our own"...
As I think everyone is aware of, David and I have finally realized our kookie, beautiful dream of being together. We married on June 1st of 2010 in a private ceremony.
We are so happy we have been struck witless and dumb and neither of us seems capable of turning a decent ditty; much less anything that actually approaches the definition of poetry...Then again, what is poetry? What defines poetry, as poetry? Could be, we are no longer able to write poetry as we are now living poetry... Perhaps, one cannot do both at the same time...lol...
I do not know...I only know, I feel anxious...Fractious that I am not writing...Yet, powerless to do anything about it, as the well...well, the well is dry...empty as a thumbless thimble...lol...
Other than whining and whimpering about not writing, I am currently still employed. Yippppeeeee! That is a blessing in and of itself during this recession.
David is beginning his search for employment. We recently acquired his social security card. Even though he is now here and we are married, we have a ways to go to get all our remaining paperwork in order that he may work legally here, i.e. get a green card...lol...
Well, I'm really tired, folks. So, I'm off to the Land of Nodz...Can't express how happy it makes me to see so many of you have been by recently...At times, it gets so quite in here, we wonder if we should even keep the "doors" open...Then, like wildflowers that spring up after a soaking rain, you guys and dolls appear...
Yeah, these doors will stay open as long as at least one of us draws breath...

Wow! And more wow! I feel privileged to be a spectator to history in the making this past decade. And now, the downtrodden citizenry of Egypt have risen up and more or less, "impeached" their version of a "president". I sit enthralled watching CNN these past few days. Sure, like many, I hope this protest doesn't turn sour and that their new democracy doesn't end up in the "wrong" hands. But, I don't know. What the Egyptian people are doing just feels right. This has been a long time coming and is long overdue. May they be blessed in their endeavors to bring democracy to their land. And may the minds that rule the world, be blessed with thoughts of creating and maintaining world peace. I'm just saying...lol

Work, its a doozy! Stuff going on here, even woozy can't fix! It's like something out of a Rod Serling Twilight Zone episode. "Imagine this. A nominally intelligent, somewhat sensitive human being walks into a corral of sharp tusked pigs and wildebeests. She is told these strange, attitudinal animals are her co~workers and some of them represent upper management. She figures that means the big headed snake, kept leashed by his trainer, a pit bull dog wearing the spiffiest, shiniest shoes ever~he must be the manager and the snake is his loss prevention agent. But it is... at that... moment...(~what happens? we will see~) at that moment...(~we will see what we wanted to see~) for certain sure we shall find, life isn't fair or kind. no where is it said, or written we shall be treated equally...for that would imply life should be fair and just.

You know, Aims, I'm not sure what advice to offer where your friend is concerned. Not sure you're even asking for any...Advice...Just know that what you're feeling, both the adoration and the blues, is part of being human...Shit...That sounds trite, too...(sound of smacking forehead) How's this? You are not alone. We feel your pain...We, as in all of us, not the "royal" we...(((((Amy)))))

Well, who knows? From friendship, often the best things blossom, even if only a deeper understanding of friendship continually blossoms? Did I sound zen? lol And you're welcome, Amy! I am finding, forgetting to smile, makes everything seem bleaker...?

We actually hosted fifteen tornadoes, Glenn and Amy, on Terrible Tuesday as I have dubbed April 3rd. Twelve were F-2's, one was a F-1; another a F-0; and the one that walked through our city was a F-3. We had the stuffing scared out of us, but, were fortunate not to suffer the damage and loss it exacted after it crossed over us to the other side of the highway. We stood out in the courtyard after the other residents of our complex and us got the nerve to come out of our closets and bathrooms and watched it grow bigger and bigger as it moved away from us. I never ever want to see anything like that again...

It is amazing to me that more people weren't hurt in a high population area like that. I'm glad you're okay, and I hope you and yours can forget it. I experienced an earthquake in the '70s and a tornado in the '80s, and between the two, I would choose an earthquake any day!!! Take care.

That is exactly what my husband, David, said. He would far rather experience an earthquake or a hurricane than a tornado. This was his first tornado adventure since his last landing in Texas, two years, ago. He wanted to observe it so bad, he stood out in the courtyard watching it come towards our little apartment complex with a few other people. Me? I knew it was coming. I went inside and began scrabbling around quick as a squirrel clearing out a closet that would hopefully provide cover. We were lucky. As it reached our apartment building, it sort of lifted up its skirt and passed over us instead of through us. That's the only way I've thought of to describe it so far. Even that merciful blessing on the part of the tornado was frightening and so much limbs and shingles flinging about, the wind getting stronger, the voice of the tornado louder even from inside our homes. Everyone ran for the cover of their respective apartments. Definitely feel both blessed and lucky. I am however, going to buy three helmets in the event another passes through.

It's my Friday on a Wednesday! Gonna let down my hair. Eat pizza and dip it in ranch dressing. Drink Dr. Pepper like it's going out of style. Then blog about it and bore my poetical friends to death with to much information! lol So, what's up with everybody else?

Guys and dolls, I'm telling you, sciatica is a nasty, fanged beast! I've been off work since Tuesday. Had a morphine injection and sent home with pain killers, muscle relaxers and steroids by my doctor. David is teasing me about my zombie shuffle. lol I walked a bit, yesterday and today, but, mostly, I lie in bed or sit very carefully watching one movie after another. Can only sit at computer for about fifteen minutes at a time, unless I'm using my daughter's laptop in bed. This is so much fun, fun, fun! NOT!

Oh my gosh, 'Nir. I feel so sorry for you because I have that problem, and it flares up when I'm carrying the baby up and down the stairs at my daughter's house. I have found "one" thing that helps though when I'm sitting at the computer. Buy a baby "bobby pillow" and use it to sit in a chair. You'll see why when you get a look at it. (ha) Good luck!!!!!!!!

I've never encountered sciatica, before this, dear Heart. Woke up last Tuesday, June 12th, in so much pain, I barely could remember my dratted name. Doc shot me up with morphine that day and sent me home with steroids, pain killers and muscle relaxers. She told me I could be "down" for anywhere from several days, to several weeks, to several months! Today, is officially a week that I've been off work. I can shuffle around for small amounts of time. I can sit for small amounts of time. I am scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday, tomorrow. I still can't work. In this shape, I couldn't make it through a two hour shift, much less an eight hour shift. I can't drive on all these pain meds, so my daughter, Ivy, has become my chauffeur to and from doctor's office and my job, trying to get my leave of absence paperwork straightened out. She's had driver's ed, but, she's still learning to drive, so, that's a trip and a half. In short, I am one hot mess!
